Welcome to our mobile game, which is part of the SOS IB project, funded by the European Union.

In this game, you will play the role of a business owner who must make some fairly everyday business decisions. Your business decisions will be evaluated based on whether you lean towards sustainable practices or are more focused on generating profit for the owner.

We recommend playing the game multiple times to observe how your decisions affect the overall success of the business and what they mean in terms of sustainability business practices.

Sustainability Index

In the game, you will encounter 10 business events where you will need to make a decision. You always have two options, and after each decision, you will be able to see how it reflects on the balance sheet. Some events affect profit more or less, while others only cause changes in assets or liabilities.

On the side, you can monitor the sustainability index and profitability index to see whether your decisions have a positive impact on sustainability or if they prefer greater profit for the owner.

After making all the decisions, you will see the final balance sheet, the income statement showing profit or loss for the period, and you will receive feedback on how you performed from the perspective of sustainable business practices.

Balance sheet - The balance sheet presents a company's financial position at a specific moment, detailing its assets, liabilities, and equity. It serves as a financial health report, indicating what the company owns, what it owes, and its net worth. Assets represent resources such as cash, inventory, and property, while liabilities are debts and obligations. Equity reflects the company's ownership value. You will see a balance sheet after each decision you make.

Income statement - The income statement summarizes a company's financial performance over a specific period, detailing its revenues, expenses, and resulting net income or loss. It functions as a financial performance report, showing how much profit the business has generated during the period. Revenues represent income generated from sales or services, while expenses include costs incurred to generate that revenue. Net income reflects the company's profit after deducting expenses from revenues. You will see an income statement at the end of the game summarizing the decisions you have made.
